For everyone who considered our fall Turnrow 20 recommendations, read all or selected books on the list, and then came back to tell us how much you loved our new program, here are 20 more dynamic books to read this winter. These are mostly new books (with one notable exception), painstakingly and lovingly culled from the mountain of new releases, advanced copies and recommendations from fellow readers by the staff of Turnrow Books. These are the books we can't stop recommending.
We'll spend the next couple of months expounding on the merits of these titles, but for now, so that you can get a jump on reading them, here is out winter Turnrow 20 list:
1. The Detour by Andromeda Romano-Lax
2. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
3. A Good American by Alex George
4. A History of the World in 100 Objects by Neil MacGregor
5. If Jack's in Love by Stephen Wetta
6. The Lost Saints of Tennessee by Amy Frankin-Willis
7. The Odds by Stewart O'Nan
8. The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson
9. The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen
10. The Rebel Wife by Taylor M. Polites
11. Roger Williams and the Creation of the American Soul by John Barry
12. The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes
13. The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt (read our review of the hardback)
14. The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey
15. Stay Awake by Dan Chaon
16. Still: Notes on a Mid-Faith Crisis by Lauren Winner
17. Stoner by John Williams
18. Townie by Andre Dubus III (read our review of the hardback)
19. The Underside of Joy by Sere Prince Halverson
20. What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank by Nathan Englander
I'm so looking forward to the Patrick DeWitt signing later this month. I've read a few interviews with him and his book sounds fascinating. I'd been planning to get it - I will get a signed copy then.
This is a great list! The Orphan Master's Son is another novel I keep hearing about. It sounds amazing, as does The Sense of the Ending.
